Bidrage med feedbackI ate in the Wagamama in South Terminal was really well looked after by staff. I had a delicious GF meal.
They have a gluten free menu, which is a massively reduced version of the normal menu. Being dairy free was ok, but a bit more complex. At least they didn’t give me the dreaded ‘allergen book’ so prevalent in the uk. Food was great. We ate in the South Terminal but that outlet wasn’t listed.
I am a big fan of wagamama – probably because they were one of the first casual dining chains to have an allergen menu and because I think they treat allergens and cross contamination seriously. The airport was busy and we queued for 30 minutes to get into the restaurant. Once Inside only about half the tables were in use probably due to COVID. Our server came to our table promptly and took our drinks order and said the manager would come to take our food order. Our server returned after about 10 minutes and noticed that the manager had not taken our food order and said he would take our food order himself. He did not have the allergen tablet but I was confident that the food I was ordering was safe because I am a frequent wagamama diner. He marked my order gf and when the food arrived it was announced as gf. Bonus marks to our server for using his initiative but disappointed in wagamama for being unable to deliver the service they promise. Food was good and safe and I will visit again on our next trip from Gatwick North.
A small tasty range of GF dishes including a rice curry.
Five stars for safety, four stars for food taste. They were SO careful with us the manager took our order and served us to make sure we didn't get the wrong meals. No cross contamination I did NOT get sick which was a relief because we were getting on a 7 hour flight... The food was ok and kind of expensive. The pad Thai did not taste like I expected it to, and was not my favorite. I would still eat here again because I know they take food allergies seriously.
