Gatton View Motel

Not long back from a trip to the gulf, we booked an overnighter here (first time) and the check-in went smoothly with a friendly intro to the motel room which was roomy, fresh and appeared recently refurbed. Linen was new 200 thread, bathroom spotless but shy on amenities as the fridge with no water jug or cookies although ample coffee/tea/milk. Aircon was new worked a treat but no Wifi so stuck with Mobile Data (Telstra just adequate). Maybe they had it but ??? The pub saved them losing a star as it provided everything a country pub should have to offer with happy to help staff, good range drink prices. New pool tables, TAB pokies, big screen TV etc.. We finished by dining with a roast of the day dinner which was silverside with mushroom sauce 5 vegetables washed down with a pleasant shiraz. The very generous serves were faultless but left no room for the warm apple pie cream we were looking forward to. Overall it was surprisingly good service as the pub was packed just after the crazy mandates lifted plus it was RACE DAY at Gatton full of celebrations!!!!! Great place is Gatton, and 10 mins walk is the Apex Park lagoon, a birdwatcher's paradise with excellent picnic facilities plus adjacent Qld Transport Museum.

As I local we eat here quite often, however it amazes me how they continue to get an order wrong time and time again. I quite often say I’m not going back but after a few months I give them another go and it’s always the same result. Poor service right from the get go. Always stuff the order up and the food is just terrible. I don’t recommend anyone going to the gatton view hotel for a meal.

When visiting Gatton we tried this pub on the Friday night and we were very disapointed. Very slow service, poorly cooked meals... the steak was paper thin so very overcooked, I sent it back. My fiend had the salmon and that was dry. The lady who served us was friendly, and that was the only good thin about it.

I am new to the area and have been exploring different restaurants and pubs. This particular restaurant will not be receiving any more of my hard-earned money. Although the prices seemed reasonable, the food was actually poor quality and the service was lacking. The person taking our order at the bar seemed annoyed by our presence, and the waitress appeared to be miserable and unresponsive. It was a disappointing experience overall.

We had an extended family meal here last night. It has a typical pub menu for reasonable prices. Steaks, lasagna, pasta, chicken, rissoles, sausages etc all between the $15 $21 mark. Reasonable portions which left room for dessert! I gave 4/5 as it was very good for a normal pub meal We will definitely come back for a meal when we next return to visit relatives
