Le Macon Pub - Gatineau

We visited The Maçon Pub on a whim when we found a 10$ voucher online (they're good until Aug. 31st!). The building is very nice and the terrasse is lovely and well maintained. Our waiter was quite nice and make some recommendations! The prices are very fair and the quality of the food is good! We had a 4 beer bucket for 15$ and split a burger and the chicken club. They have great chip wagon style fries. Merci pour la belle soirée, Pub Maçon!

My wife took me to Le Macon for lunch on my Birthday. It was perfect weather for the patio. We shared the Poutine with crispy pork and Duck Wings with kimchi. For dessert we had the bread pudding (So good!). Great selection of beers available. The Staff where super friendly and the service was great. Good food, Cold beer on the patio- could not have asked for a better B-Day lunch.

The decor and the atmosphere is very good. the service was nice, despite the fact that the server seemed very inexperienced. food was very good, but there is only a few vegetarian choices.

Went to Le Macon for my sister’s birthday on June 14th 2017. We were 8 people, one of which is wheelchair bound. There is no handicap access to this place, we had to go in via the back door, which has a step, when I was having difficulties pulling my father’s wheel chair up the step, the employee who opened the door for us, said he would rather not help me because he has a bad back! No offer to try and have someone else help or nothing, he wouldn’t even hold the door open for us, he actually asked one of my sisters to hold the door open for me….Then once we were seated in an completely empty restaurant, (we were the only ones in the whole restaurant, inside and out) we ordered our drinks, my daughter asked for a coke my niece a virgin Caesar, the server brought us 2 cokes!! From our only table to the bar, he had already forgotten the drink order!! Bad start! The Service was extremely slow, every plate he brought to our table, he had to ask who’s it was, to the point that when I was the only one left with no plate in front of her, when he brought my plate, he actually asked who ordered the pork sandwich!!! Really???? Then, while we were the only one’s eating in the whole restaurant, my sisters who were the only ones that ordered fish, asked for more lemon, low and behold, when he brought the lemon, he had to ask “who wanted the lemon?”!!! OMG!After supper, I went to the washroom, there is a big poster advertising 10$ off when presenting the add found on Facebook. When we tried to do that with our cell phones, we were told that we had to print the actual advertisement, so no 10$ off for us. Even if the add in the washroom has absolutely no mention of having to print anything!!This was the worst service I have ever experience in a restaurant. My sisters who had the fish & chip were very disappointed, very small portion, with practically no batter, couldn’t cut the fish with your fork, had to use the knife. I had the pork sandwich, very bland, disappointing! My daughter had the tasteless poutine, the only one who was satisfied was my brother who ordered the mussels. Oh yes, almost forgot to mention, there is a beautiful porch/terrace in front of the place, but you can’t sit there!!! Yes folks, that porch/terrace in front, where the beautiful sun is, doesn’t belong to “Le Macon” that terrace is for the other restaurant, upstairs!!Very poor service, very bland food, sad to say, but will not be back and would not recommend to anyone.

I would not call that a " fish and chip". Very small piece of fish, not crispy at all, to cook. I was still hungry after eating all the french fries and the small salad. Good service. To bad it was not busy at all for a friday night. No atmosphere. Dont have a great selection of appetizers.
