I am here with six locals who just arrived by canoe. We were very hungry and asked if the service would be fast. We have seen three families sit down and get served already.
The fish and chips at this restaurant by the dock were fantastic. The interior decor is simple, but if the weather is nice, you can enjoy your meal outside right by the water.
We took a break from our visit to the museum of history to grab lunch here. The place is really a small convenience store that makes sandwiches, but boy those sandwiches are good! It was cramped and old in the store, but that sort of felt like part of the charm. We got sandwiches, drinks and chips for 4 for around $30 cad. The only eating area is outside. We enjoyed this little adventure.
We came here on our 1st visit to Gatineau in 2008. We happened upon it again, and were thrilled to do so.The food here is so fresh and yummy. This place is constantly busy, it is mostly grab and go, but there are a few cramped tables at the back. The (I am assuming) owner works here alone, so he is busy, and there maybe a bit of a wait. And the tables might not be perfectly wiped down, but this place really is all about the sandwiches. It also has a convenience store feel to it, so there are other snacks available. Plus in 2008 we had beer.
