Bidrage med feedbackWe had been to The Other Place several times before, but never returned after it relocated following a fire. I decided to give it another chance and took my mom, sister, and some friends there on a Saturday night for dinner and a show. We were all disappointed with the quality of the food and the high prices. I ordered the seafood linguine, my sister opted for the buffet, and my mother got the filet mignon. The linguine was underwhelming, lacking in seafood with just two shrimp, two scallops, two mussels, and one clam. It was nothing special and definitely not worth the price. The other menu options were similarly disappointing, with the side of steak being too hard for my mother to eat and the portion size too small for the cost. Despite the entertaining show, I don't plan on returning to this restaurant.
We used to be regular customers of Ferme Rouge, located near Masson, QC, in an old farm setting. The atmosphere was rustic and cozy, with a hearty land-sea buffet served in an old boat. The staff were energetic, and there was entertainment such as singers, dancers, and a lively orchestra that got customers dancing late into the night. However, since it relocated to Château Cartier in Gatineau following a fire that destroyed the original location, we have not returned. We recently visited the "new" Ferme Rouge to celebrate a birthday and found it to be very modern, with a large dining room, a stage in the center, and a bar serving the famous land-sea buffet (the old boat had also burned down). The restaurant now offers dinner shows on Fridays and Saturdays, catering well to seafood lovers but offering limited options for meat lovers. Sometimes there are long waits for food and some dishes run out quickly. The restaurant can get quite loud when busy, and the loud music can be distracting during dinner. The waitstaff and performers provide lively service, but the show lacks diversity and the orchestra has been replaced by electronic music. While younger customers may enjoy the new atmosphere, it may be less appealing to older patrons. We did not stay until the end of the show, as we were unsure if there would be dancing afterwards, and we were disappointed to learn that the French cancan performance had been removed due to issues with the costumes. We enjoyed the buffet (although we found the price to be a bit high), but overall, the new disco-like atmosphere did not allow for a relaxed social experience like we had experienced at the original location.
Could be taken without the hip hop dance music during dinner. very annoying. had a spinach salad and a fillet mignon. the salat was ok, but had too much dressing. the filet was perfect! However, the baked potato was not fresh and tasted strong...from reheating...the vegetables were mixed and usually reheated: fresh pieces of brocoli, carrots reheated and tasty, it had to spit out because it was bad. I didn't like the mini quash. fresh products should be a kitchen priority! but it's not because it was the same year ago. the show was ok, but not as good as the last time I went a year ago. mostly on pre-recorded music in the background, with taking some out. this does not benefit from the singers who are talented voting wise. music too loud about voting. logistics, dance and presentation need improvement. service was ok and finished with a smile. considering that the waiters and waiters are also the entertainers, they have their hands full and surely do the best they can. no easy job!
As it is so close to home, we thought we would give him a shot (aylmer is quite the height of the bore when it comes to eating) and were not impressed. the buffet had a very limited selection and that was eating, at best, slandered and uninspired....The show was a lot of fun. the entertainers are coworkers and drew a lot of musical styles well. the amount was, we will say on the gray haired side of the dinge, but given enough alcohol there was a party atmosphere and the ladies were up and dancing. in any case, I would go back.
I had not visited this new Ferme Rouge. The place it is situated is amazing.Golf.Country Club with nature all around.Inside it is big and different sitting options is great in case you are a couple or a group. The service is very friendly . I had...a steak with all the trimings.it was perfectly cooked and well presented. I got to see the buffet table wich was amazing it had everything my friends wanted. It is a very clean place. But you must like music as the staff are great singers dancers and musiciens. But you can sit farther if you do not want it.All and all fun experience
