Bidrage med feedbackBooked a family lunch for six for 3.15. Trakol serve Sunday lunch until 5pm. We ordered oyster for Three and tomato and crab on toast. Only four oyster and no crab. No alternative was offered. We were told 3 pm was a late booking but they take reservations until five so that was a weak excuse. The orders taken for both the bear and the wine were incorrect the knife was dirty smeared with something the roast beef which five of us orderef was cold as were the vegetables and all swimming in cold gravy on a cold plate. No vanilla ice cream on a plus rhubarb sponge with custard was very good.
Sunday lunch … starter of mackerel rarebit, mains of beef, lamb and pork, all excellent however, the request of normal coke just one step too far
Pleasant restaurant with views across the river tyne and indoor or outdoor seating. Visited on Sunday so only have experience of Sunday lunch menu. Mains were Beef or pork or lamb and a veggie choice and all with usual Sunday lunch yorkshire pudd and vegetables. Food was enjoyable with decent sized portions. Well worth a visit.
Excellent location. Efficient staff. Shame about the Sunday lunch which was awful. I asked for the standard plate but without meat. I received a heap of very large, uncut, root vegetables, covered in kale, sitting in a pool of cool brown liquid. The Yorkshire pudding and very large roast potato were ok. Maybe I was unfortunate. I didn’t complain because the meal was a treat from our friends.
Fabulous experience from the start. Friendly staff, fabulous location under the iconic Tyne Bridge, outside seating for a pre dinner drink by the river. Starters more a sharing plate pigs tail unusual but tasty. Rib of beef main at £85 for 3 to share was great value and absolutely excellent. Margaret River wine v good too. Highly recommended
