Stepping Stones - Garstang

Popped into Stepping Stones for lunch on a Saturday. Have never visited before and was looking for somewhere off the A6, near to Garstang. This is ideal, just a couple of minutes from the main road and with plenty of parking. It was quiet when we arrived and we received a warm welcome from the team. We started with a pot of tea, which was nice and strong. I had quiche of the day (vegetarian with chips and salad and my companion had meat pie with chips and peas. We were tempted by the dessert menu and I had a delicious iced cinnamon bun with a scoop of ice cream and my friend had sticky toffee pudding. The staff were super friendly and chatted to us and were happy to adapt our meals to exactly what we wanted. The food was excellent and well presented and very tasty. The dining area is large, with a choice of different areas. The windows look out across the River Wyre, with Beacon Fell beyond and the railway running through (a bonus for train spotters! There is some outdoor seating for use in summer. Will definitely return and recommend a visit. Vegetarian options: A good choice of vegetarian options and some vegan choices too.
