Glen House Restaurant - Gananoque

Last night we took our good friends to the Glenhouse restaurant for dinner out on their porch overlooking the docks and the beautiful 1000 islands. We love this restaurant and often go thru out the year. Always great service, we love the wait staff there. Very accomadating too. If you don't want their fantastic fries you can switch up to salad instead. Last night my husband ordered their lamb special.....he loved the lamb but had ordered fries instead of a potatoe. They forgot the fries but with quick action by Katerie We got them nice and hot,not too much later. Thank you for the great evening...always a pleasure....best value are the full rack of ribs! Went here with my golf buddies and we stayed at the resort and ate breakfast and dinner at the Glen House and lunch at the adjacent bar. Breakfast and Lunch were great, however dinner was ok. Three of us ordered prime rib (speciality of the house) however one was over cooked (asked for medium rare, got medium) and the other was medium rare but filled with fat. Anyhow the service was good.

We had a family birthday party for dinner and all were suitably impressed. We took a special cake with their permission and it was served with all the fan fare. They couldn't have done anything more to make us feel so welcome. The food was delicious and we all had different meals off of the menu. We as a couple, had spent a couple of different weekends there also and had a fabulous time. The resort is quaint and extremely comfortable. The staff is most professional and courteous. We recommend the resort highly. The Halsteads..

The place is quaint and consistent. Not fancy but comfortable. Rooms are warm and comfortable. Perhaps dated but comfortable. Relatively clean establishment, with a nice dining room and bar viewing the St Lawrence River.

Try the roast beef-- it is their speciality -- though our group tried different meals and all were good. Prices similar to the keg
