Little Daddy's Gumbo Galveston

This place was perfect for a cold day on the island. The chicken and sausage has a dark roux and was seasoned perfectly. The gator and fried pickles were both hot and crispy. The garlic bread was nice to dip in the huge bowl of gumbo. Our waitress was attentive and filled drinks often. Food came out hot and pretty fast. They forgot my order of sweet potato fries, but I didn't have room to eat them anyway.

My experience with Little Daddy's was awesome! I came in here on an evening after getting settled into my hotel room. The minute I walked into this place, I knew it was going to be good. I came in here with one other person. We started out with 2 hurricanes to drink. They certainly did not disappoint. After the drinks, we decided to order 4 appetizers instead of getting dinners. And I believe that was a good decision. It allowed us to try more things on the menu. When the food came, it was all delicious. We ordered the fried oysters, shrimp cocktail, the gumbo bar garbage, and jambalaya. It was all fantastic. It was all pretty reasonably priced for what you got too: 2 large mixed drinks, 2 beers, 4 delicious food items, and a T-shirt. All for around $100. Not bad in my opinion. Overall, I'd eat here every day if I could.

Not gonna lie, I like my Cajun food and the spicier the better! My dishes did not disappoint today. Be mindful that the portions are large, especially the gumbo bowls. Chicken and sausage gumbo was really good rich and dark. I was baffled by an oyster or two in my bowl since I expect that in a trashy version, or seafood. Still, it was excellent gumbo. A couple bottles of hot sauce at the table made it perfect for my taste. I also ordered a Fried Shrimp PO Boy after some deliberation. It was good, but fell short of my top twenty list. Darn it! Next time I?ll try a platter, and yes, I will be back.

Really good food. I ordered the fried gator and the chefs special along with the shrimp gumbo appetizer. Loved it all but I would recommend passin on the gumbo. I was expecting a bowl of it and what I got was the equivalent of a large shot glass (I took the photo pretty close so it looks bigger than it was) Tough times I suppose, anyways save yourself the $8 and choose something else. Service was good, food was delicious, highly recommend. Literally wiped my plate clean ?

Cons: Finding parking is a bit of a hassle anywhere down there especially on weekends. They didn't serve our food at the same time. I had to wait about 5 minutes longer. It didn't bother me, but this may be a concern for those coming in with a group of people. Pros: It was a very good experience I had with my dad the food was really good. I ordered the Hangover Burger and my dad ordered the Gumbo Shrimp Platter. They have a bar, tv, and the customer service was good. The food tasted better than expected. I don't like Cajun food, but there appetizers with the shrimp, sausages, and rice was delicious. Overall: I recommend this place. 5 out of 5 stars. The customer service was great refilling my water without me asking and very polite. It was the food that really did it for me. I rarely like Cajun food or fried food, usually stay at home and cook my own meals, so I'm glad I found a place to go eat that I know can deliver on taste.
