Ichiban Sushi - Gainesville

I wish there were more fish in the fish tank, I love fish and I feel like that side of the room could use some more color, but the food was great! It felt like Poseidon himself was nutting in my mouth the sushi was so good.Food: 5/5

Big eating area with an outdoor seating in the back. Everyone was great, the service was quick, and the food was fresh. Go early because it fills up fast for dinner. The bar is really well stocked and great drinks!! Seats are comfortable. If need be, the staff can put tables together for a big group. There's takeout, which is always ready to be picked up on time. There is a large variety of rolls in all bakes, raw and singles. Super selection!Vegetarian options: There are two vegetarian options if you remove the cream cheese. That would be the gado gado and the paradise roll. Ther is miso soup and edamame and My favorite wakame.

Atmosphere was lack luster, at best. Paint was peeling off walls, the tables had chipped away wall paper/paint, and the tables were battered.The service was amazing, our waitress was happy and attentive to all our needs.The food was awful, the yakisoba was the equivalent of cheap Japanese takeout, and had large chunks of green peppers and onion that weren't cooked through. The sushi was horrendous, the cut sizes were too large, the rice was overwhelming, and most of the sauces tasted like they were out of a store bought bottle, or were simply sweet and sour sauce with chilis.All in all, a disappointment after hearing a stellar recommendation. Nobody seemed to even care (aside from our server) when we sent back 4 uneaten rolls.Would give 0 stars if I could. Please do better.

Great food and calming atmosphere. The service is always attenativ. It does take longer to get food, but recognize it is made fresh to order, so I find that acceptable. The alcoholic drinks are made well and have a vibe.Parking: Open parking with plenty of spacesWheelchair accessibility: First floor access with ramp on too sidewalk. Not a big Sushi fan but theirs is some of the best. Service is excellent, very attentive and accommodating. Menu is limited outside of the specialty items that that type of restaurant offers but have never had a bad experience there. I mean don't go in asking for a salad and request your favorite dressing because they don't have it but if you want something geared towards what they serve it's going to be top notch.
