El Sombrero - Gainesville

Great food, great service, great price. Thick crunchy tortilla chips, good hot sauces, good salsa! Tomatoes were so fresh and red. Guacamole so good! Not too crowded. Many Latinos eating here must be good Mexican food!

Great Mexican food in the area highly recommend the Chilaquiles Lunch menu until 3:30 can't be beat.

Great veggie fajitas. Seasoned just right. Nice and clean restaurant with a friendly staff.

It always seems like Mexican restaurants are pretty much the same everywhere. But I'm going to tell you I have not had a bad meal at El Sombrero! I love steak quesadillas and most restaurants serve grisly steak in all of their meals. I have no idea what meet these people are using but the steak was absolutely perfect very tender and was almost like prime rib. I've never had any steak from a Mexican restaurant even close to this. I can't say enough about it I can't wait to go back and get it again. I highly recommend this place. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor is heated and covered so it is comfortable pretty much all year long. Sometimes the service is a little slow but that is my only complaint. We always enjoy the food here.

Food was awesome,service was fast and friendly, even though we arrived about 30 minutes before closing. So appreciated wait staff not having an attitude. We did in fact leave by closing time, leaving a generous tip. Can't wait to go back!!
