Bidrage med feedbackNo menu but simple choices described by the chef who then produced a tastey and different salad and cooked some great Peto. Recommended if you dont mind eccentric.
The food was simply bad, expensive and poor. We asked for the menü but we did not get it. We were neither informed on the prices of the dishes. We asked for fish croquette and for veggie bags. It was all very oily and poor, served with marmalade ??? (I assume that from the typical breakfast plastic ones). We payed 20 euros. For this amount of money one can eat great food on the island. Though the waiter was caring, friendly and quick but it could not take away the bad taste of the light dinner .
We had Parrot Fish (Vieja) and Lamb shank. Lamb well marinaded and carefully cut up for my wife by the helpful and enthusiastic chef. Parrot fish has a lovely flaky texture and mild smooth taste. Lots of bones and scales although they separated readily. Just didn't leave an awful lot of fish but that's just me being greedy! Friendly and helpful waiter too. Only negative is the lack of a menu. Quite common with good restaurants on the island it seems but we don't like not knowing price or full range of choice. However both the food and the price were OK in the end.
It was extremely expensive: 35 euros for one salad, one soup and a bottle of watter!!!!They did not offer us a desert because
We spontaneously decided to go to Casa Pucho. The waiter showed us a very nice table in a parcelled room. He recommended us lamb shank for 2 persons which we decided to take. It was the best lamb meal ever! We got a whole lamb shank wit canary potatoes and vegetables. The meat was nicely served and delicious. We will come back on our next stay at El Hierro!
