Bidrage med feedbackMei mei mei mei mei was the best in the city delicious Chinese cuisine, especially there eierrolles the best. I and my family were years of experience and never had problems. I have recently put an order for picking up and when I came home to enjoy my meal, the crab stick tasted old, my bark lo my had bad smell, tasted funny and was little slim. I was annoyed, my appetit put everything back in the box to return the food. I then explained to them and said that this is old and spoiled. she apologized and said I should cook you a new one, or do you want her refund? I said no thank you for giving me my refund. I'll never be disgusting again. it is definitiw not the same and they do not earn the mei mei name
NEW OWNERSHIP… went downhill in my opinion. I ordered Pork with garlic sauce, and it is mostly breading with tiny strips of pork. The pork was tender, but the dish was so spicy I couldn’t eat it. Also, the water chestnuts so tiny, I couldn’t pick them up with my fork… can’t imagine using chop sticks. Also got the Chicken chow mein and chicken was stringy, obviously frozen, and the chinese vegetables seemed liked lettuce and onions!! No mushrooms in either dish. The pork had the HUGE black hot peppers. Egg drop soup was super salty and more broth than egg pieces. Will only order from here again if someone else pays for it.
Mei Mei used to be the greatest example of Home made Chinese cuisine. The best comfort food in the neighborhood. We took pride in recommending it to friends and family. The original Mei Mei staff took pride in their craft. Serving people with great food and smiles. This new owners don’t deserve to keep the name. No one should spend their hard earned money on this place anymore. I encourage the new owners to change the name and stop fooling people based on old reviews and old pictures.
Loved this place all my life 40+ years. Was very disheartened 4 or so months ago when I picked up my order and saw none of the old familiar faces that used to greet me every time I went. I got home and the food was a complete disappointment. I read the current reviews and found that I was not the only one. There were the same complaints, the fried rice , the egg rolls etc.. The BBQ ribs (once the best around) were dry and had no sauce at all on them at all. The worst though was the spare ribs with black bean sauce. This was my favorite dish, small meaty chunks of ribs cooked in a rich thick garlic black bean SAUCE. What I got was rib soup, brown water with a couple of black beans floating in it, terrible. Someone in the reviews said to give them a chance (learning curve). Okay one month later I tried again, the fried rice was back as it should be, the ribs were better, but coated with a thick (brushed on, commercial red BBQ sauce, not unacceptable, but not the original, not sticky, red sauce that was marinated into the meat, that made them the best around. Today I tried again. They forgot the white rice in my order (WHAT), the Young Chow Wonton Soup (only comes in large) now has two less Wontons, and the Ribs in Black Bean Sauce was worse than before. There were less ribs and they had less meat on them. They looked to be boiled in a brown water (again) with a few black beans and were tasteless and not edible. What a shame !
This one hurts. One of the legendary Chinese food establishments has new owners and they have destroyed everything that made Mei Mei great. They used to have the best egg foo young on the planet with a rich sweet brown sauce. Now the sauce tastes of nothing but weird flour and the omelette is over cooked and not fresh. Not to mention the dumplings, used to be plump, juicy with fresh herbs and now you get these flat, poorly cooked inedible garbage. It’s really a shame. Clearly the new owners have no passion and no skills
