Grays On Main - Franklin

I think this restaurant has gone downhill in a big way. Went last night and 3 of us had shrimp grits and it was not good at all. Grits were runny and shrimp was tough. We said something and manager did come over, but only offered free dessert which we did not want. Menu was also lacking. They have two steak options, fried chicken, crab cake and shrimp grits are only entree options. Very expensive to be disappointed and not get good customer service. Will not be going back. :

Absolutely the best food decision of our year! The bartender was our waiter and he steered us perfectly to two cocktails that we thoroughly enjoyed. We shared an appetizer of fried pimento cheese balls and the ham and cheese sandwich. Do yourself a favor and don’t let them take the plate after you polish off the cheese balls. That sauce is perfect to drag bites of sandwich through, and I liked it on the fries. Not cheap, but as a late lunch/early dinner, it was perfect. Service was outstanding, the perfect balance between present, hovering, and neglect.

Went with a group from work. Cocktails were unusual and well liked The fries appetizer was nothing special. Three shared the family style chicken with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The chicken was great, highly recommend. The creamed spinach seemed like it would make a good dip and people liked it. The mashed potatoes were so runny they were more like soup. When we asked the waitress, we were told that was how they were served but no one cared for them. Another co-worker ordered bouillabaisse but was brought shrimp and grits. They promised to bring out the bouillabaisse right away. Over an hour later, everyone else was done and it still had not arrived. They finally brought it as we were trying to cancel the order. No apology for the delay. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience and will not recommend this restaurant. It is a shame because the atmosphere was nice. They change the menu throughout the year and it is on the smaller side.

Cool old whiskey bar restaurant feel. Friendly and helpful service. Definitely recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken entree bacon wrapped fig goat cheese starter. Takes credit cards. Street parking free after 5pm. Great area and local shops to stroll in historic Franklin.

The food was exquisite. The truffle demi caught me off guard at first, but after the first bite, it was delicious. The service was okay. The waiter was bustling a lot where there was never a moment for me to ask for a straw. Occasionally, I felt overlooked compared to my counterparts, whom I dined with. There are restrooms, but it is one stall. It creates a waiting line for customers, not a major issue, but something to be aware of. The atmosphere was overall elegant and upscale.
