Bidrage med feedbackI'm sure it's a great place to go to if your are not a visible minority or tourist. This place should be ashamed.Shocking experience in Frankfurt. Showed up at the restaurant at 9:30am just after it was open and only 3 out of likely 30 tables were filled. We asked for a table for 4 people. After the waitress looked us up and down, she went to her manager and they had a small discussion before letting us know it was fully booked. We didn't think anything of it until right after we walked it of the restaurant, we noticed the reserved placecard missing from pretty much all the tables. In addition 3 clearly still drunk or hungover Individuals walked in, asked for a table, and clearly had no reservations. They seated them right away at a table that would of fit us 4. When we saw that, we knew something was up and went back in, asking if they had any tables outside because they clearly just sat another group who didn't have reservations. After looking a bit shocked, the server went back in and had another small discussion with her manager, looking as if they just got caught for something they shouldn't have done. They offered us an even smaller table than for the group of 3 they just sat. After asking for additional chairs she told us to wait and immediately came back to the group of 3 with blankets and started chatting them up, ignoring us. That's when we decided this place wasn't worth it. It doesn't need to be said, but when you act that blatantly rude and dare I say, racist towards a group of 4 Asians while giving preferential treatment to others, you should expect a bad review. For the owners who will likely read this, first off, we are Canadian. And secondly, the 3 people you just sat? We saw one of those women (the one in the white dress) peeing on the street and clearly hungover, as we were walking to the restaurant. So kudos, you just lost our business, showcased how racist you are in the process, and now have a pee covered seat in your restaurant.
Vorsicht Rassisten!!! Incredibly dissapointed with this establishment's treatment of non-white guests. It's our first day in Germany and we saw great reviews so we took the DB at 9 AM (still jetlagged) to the restaurant. We were turned away at an empty restaurant with the waitress stating we had no reservations. We were out front searching for other places to go and then 3 white people who were still drunk with no reservations had a debate with the hostess and were seated outside. After we saw that we went back at pointed out what happened, we were offered 2 seats on the street for 4 people and ignored by the waitress when we asked for chairs. As a Canadian living in Los Angeles, I was shocked by this blatant racism of this business.
My friends and I were visiting Frankfurt and made our way out to this restaurant specifically because of it's 5 star rating. We came here at 9:30am (30 minutes after it opened). When we arrived only one table of 4 was being used. Otherwise it was empty. When we asked to be seated, the waitress asked if we had a reservation, which we said no. She check with her manager it seemed and he glanced at us. Afterwards the waitress came back and said they were fully booked. We said thank you and we asked out (a bit confused since the entire restaurant was empty). Then a group of 3 walked in after us asking to be seated. They were then seated outside at a tabletop of 3. We wondered why that happened. The only difference between our group of 4 and their group was that we were Asian and they were what seemed like locals. I went back in to ask the waitress again to check if there was anything outside. She went back to the manager and seemed to be discussing how we saw them seat a group after telling us the whole place was booked. The waitress came back to me and pointed to a small table with two seats where she could seat us. It was super tiny but I guess we could've made it work. I then asked if she could add 2 seats to that table and she said let me check. Instead of going back inside to check, she goes to the table that she just seated outside and talks to them, with no indication of finishing their discussion to help us. We got fed up as it definitely felt like they were clearly discriminating our group for whatever reason. We decided to leave and as we were leaving, we looked back and saw the waitress move that group to the table that was originally offered to us. Very poor way to treat tourists/customers and we did nothing to them to deserve this type of service (or lack there of). It was very clear their treatment of us was based off of something other than just "them being booked up". I would not recommend this place to anyone who is visibly not a local.
Nice little restaurant with lovely terrace, good pinot grigio and delicious Spatzle. Friendly staff.
