Bidrage med feedbackI had the pink elephant roll, it was easily a 5*. The crab rangoon was also very good, probably a 4*. It would have been 5* if they had dabbed the extra grease off before bringing it out to the table. The challenges came with the traditional Chinese chicken dishes. We had both the Orange Chicken and the General Tso. The Orange Chicken wasn't bad at all, a few tough pieces that tasted either over cooked, or cooked previously then reheated. The General Tso's wasn't good at all an easy 1*. It's one of my favorites so I've had it in multiple places, this was very low on the list if not the bottom. The service was good, It was to the point that we didn't really notice the server, but we also never wanted for anything. To me that is perfect service. When initially taking our order she was happy to provide recommendations on the rolls. I will be going back, this time I will stick to the sushi and maybe an appetizer or two. I'm expecting that visit to be 5/5*.
The egg rolls were a little over cooked. The salmon was warm, I wasn't expecting it to be warm
Vastly different each time we went, and we probably won't be back. A shame as it's so close to home. Sushi was not fresh. The ginger on the plate was not fresh either. The Moscow mule my wife raved about our first visit was very bad on the second visit. Service on our first visit was incredibly slow, with kids food coming out after our main entrees, and sushi 10 minutes after that. I got beef broccoli and it was incredibly salty, (nearly inedible). Second visit I got beef ramen. It was miso broth, udon noodles and three strips of beef jerky, (only way I can describe the beef). The beef was bland and nearly impossible to cut- with utensils or teeth.I initially was going to rate Bonsai Fortville at two stars, as my wife liked her crab rangoon roll she got both times, but my food was not good either time. I also noticed the establishment plays christian rock- certainly within their right- but nothing I'd care to listen to while dining.
I've had better sushi from Kroger that cost 1/4 the price. That should say it all.
Just bought 2 orders of crab ragoons with yum yum sauce! They used to be extremely good, always fresh. The last few times my husband and I have purchased them they were made in old oil, they were made with very little filling inside, and seemed to be sitting for a while! Extremely disappointed! It's the only restaurant near by with crab ragoons.
