The menu offers high-quality Greek dishes with some unique twists. Although the menu is simple, there is a good variety of delicious options, especially for vegetarians. The service is efficient and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable considering the generous portion sizes. The decor is refreshingly non-traditional Greek, featuring interesting artwork instead of the usual stereotypical motifs. Takeaway options are also available. This cafe is perfect for a light meal, coffee, or a sweet treat.
Spanakopita is a restaurant that is open from Wednesday to Sunday with a limited menu, but they excel in what they offer. They serve traditional Greek cakes made with authentic vegetables and a delicious crumble topping, available as a single portion or to share. They also offer a variety of traditional sweets, perfect for dining in or taking away. Overall, Spanakopita is a great addition to the culinary options in the Newstead area.
Not a lot of people seem to have found this small but stylish cafe behind James Street. Needs to get the crowds in to builld up an appropriate atmosphere. Good quality greek food with some interesting twists on old themes. A simple menu but a good range of tasty sounding choices - very vegetarian friendly. Service is laid back but friendly. Prices are very reasonable for the quantities. Decor was not stereotypically greek for a pleasant change - plenty of interesting art without looking like a gallery. They also offer takeaways. Worth a visit for a light meal or coffee and sweets.
Spanakopita is only open days Wednesday to Sunday, and has just a limited menu, but these are the things that they do really well. Very traditional Greek pies using authentic vegetables and herbs which you can have either singley or a plate of tastes to share with others. They also do a range of traditional sweets. Great to eat in, or take away. A welcome addition to the range available in Newstead.
I decided to try the Yiros Shop in the Valley after hearing about their reputation for having the best-tasting Yiros in Brisbane. Impressed by the quality, I decided to visit their new franchise on Charlotte Street in the Brisbane CBD.
