Bidrage med feedbackIt's not common to come across a Maltese restaurant, but this one was a pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was very good. I tried the Ricotta Ravjul, which was delicious. The tomato sauce was a bit sweet for my liking, but overall it was a great experience.
Absolutely delicious Late dinner after show at the power house, service was outstanding, pizzas were amazing, loved the namesake rabbit pizza!
We chose to dine at Fenek because it is one of the few places in James Street and Newstead that offers a full brunch menu, not just breakfast or lunch. We were the first in our group of 8 to arrive and were welcomed warmly and led to our table. Our coffees, strong and hot, arrived promptly as requested. As the rest of the group arrived, menus were brought to our table. We were all faced with a difficult decision as the extensive brunch menu offered over 20 tempting options. After some deliberation, we placed our orders and food started to arrive shortly after. Everyone was pleased with their choices - the French toast brioche with salted caramel, banana, and ricotta was a standout, as were the corn fritters with avocado and poached egg. The bacon-infused burger, omelette, and bacon and eggs with mushrooms were all delicious and cooked to perfection. We had previously dined at Fenek for dinner and were impressed, and now we are even more pleased to discover their excellent brunch offerings. Well done, Fenek!
We decided to try Fenek for the Friday Maltese menu and we weren't disappointed. The meals were hearty and full of flavour and some of them were exactly like Nunna used to make! If you go, I highly recommend the octopus - it was like butter; soft, full of flavour and melted in your mouth! The service team was attentive, friendly and helpful and almost too attentive sometimes with more than one coming to check how we were enjoying our meal. I'm not really complaining - service was fast and friendly and the food was served in a really timely way. Afterward, the chef and owner came out for a chat and we compared our Maltese heritage and memories of our childhood. We were also gifted with some treacle circle treats! I managed a bite (I was so full) and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the rest. If you're from Brisbane or just visiting, Fenek is definitely worth a visit. It's large enough to have great atmosphere and intimate enough so you can have easy conversation at your table without needing to yell. A lovely place, with great food, great service and great atmosphere! We'll definitely be back. :)
My colleagues and I recently had the pleasure of enjoying delicious food prepared by the Fenek team for a work function after hours. We highly recommend them for their tasty and filling dishes, which were the perfect addition to our in-house celebration.
