The oysters Rockefeller and Bienville are great starters. You can wash them down with Abita Beer on tap. Purple Haze and Turbodog are especially good. Don't miss the burgers, po'boys and again the fried green tomatoes.
I grew up in Louisiana and am a chef myself. Recently moved to FL about a year ago, tried many knockoff Cajun restaurants, this one is for real, went during a saints game and the who dat nation was alive and well there! The place was recommended by a guy named tater so I knew I could not go wrong! We had oysters on the half shell (very fresh) with my abita amber beer (only in New Orleans), a blackened steak quesadilla, catfish that was not from china (thank you) and last but not least the shrimp w/grits. Now keep in mind I am not a big fan of grits even though I am Louisiana bred and born! These were creamy and cooked to perfection. The shrimp was prepared in what I would call an etoufee sauce and topped the grits w/ fresh green onions! Literally the best I have ever had in 53 years of trying grits! Also they fly everything in from Louisiana! All I can say is I Recommend, recommend, recommend, if you want true Louisiana food! Thanks again Shuck and Dive for making me feel like I was back in good old Louisiana cowboy.
Everything from the fun casual atmosphere, service, and great burgers to dinner entrees, this place is a must and my new regular hang-out...
After SB tix deal feel through, attended a Super Bowl party here and it was awesome....even outside of the reason why I was there. The blackend and blue cheese oysters were awesome! Wish they served liquor though!
I went for lunch with a group of co workers, we sat at the bar. The service was unfriendly and I felt I was doing them a favor by eating there. The food was comparable to a fast food chain restaurant. Maybe dinner is their forte, but I will likely never know.
