Le Petit Cafe - Fort Lauderdale

A true chef owned French cafe in a place no one would look! The owner and his wife and all their staff, which have worked there for years, work hard and lovingly at preparing and serving the food. The atmosphere is very cozy and homey. In fact Christian’s and Marilyse’s daughter grew up there and is part of the restaurant ambiance. There are many traditional French recipes here but really go for the crepes which are divine!!

I’ve been curious about Le Petit Cafe in its little strip center on Griffin Road for ages, and am so tired of all the big chain restaurants…four of us went last night and loved it. Quaint quiet atmosphere, lovely menu with so many tempting things — loads of crepes, several fish dishes, frogs legs, beef bourguignon, crispy duck, escargot, homemade soups, pate, French onion soup….what to choose??!?! Two of us had yummy crepes and the others had the duck and veal francaise. Everything was delicious, including the little roasted potato chunks, soup of the day and the very nice salads that came with the entrees. House wine by the carafe was fine, service very friendly and prompt, prices reasonable. We will be back, and soon!
