Freeland's Restaurant - Fort Erie

We were recently at Clarion Hotel. We ate twice in this restaurant. We tried her Sunday buffet. It was very bad value calculated for the price. We had better in other chains that include a continental breakfast. Wait, but the staff was very pleasant....Giving them another chance, I tried to order a solo dinner later Lasagne. It was frozen in the middle. No fault of waiting staff and hopefully the food quality can be improved.

I had never heard of the Clarion Hotel on Garrison Rd. until I read a good review and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the gourmet dishes offered, in addition to the usual fare. I ordered the roasted chicken breast with a sun-dried tomato and pepper sauce, while my partner opted for the salmon steak. Both dishes were fantastic and came in generous portions. If you enjoy Greek salad, this is the place for you - the portion size is enough for a meal or two to share. The prices were very reasonable and the food and service were wonderful. A special thank you to Chef Ruthie for providing us with a truly enjoyable dining experience.

The night I was there, they were flooded with customers. That was the first night of the waitress Deirdre. The other waiting staff and the bar offer were not shown. Deirdre remained calm and happy. She also made sure everyone got orders there and how they wanted... then. She did a great job. Chef Ruthe made the most amazing food. The portions were large and seasoned to perfection. I had French onions soup many places, but that was Michelin Star quality. The broth was thick and rich with rosemary and red wine. There had to be a lot of a whole onion in it. I also had the chicken tetrazzini was big enough for two. It had a lot of pasta and a lot of spinach. The next morning I had breakfast. It was quick and accurate to order. I heard others comment on how the eggs were made perfect. I'll eat tonight and have breakfast tomorrow before I go back to the States. If I gave the chance to eat there again.

My wife and I had the special soft taco with fries and the chicken tetrazzini. We both agreed that it was the best meal we've ever had. It wasn't crowded, but it should be - the chef and waitress were so polite and friendly. I wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often.

This little gem of a restaurant is hidden inside the Clarion hotel. Awesome food at a great price. Prices are very reasonable. Service was very quick. Food tasted like I had cooked it in my kitchen myself. Will definitely be coming back.
