Bidrage med feedbackAs far as Chinese food goes, this was pretty good. We were slightly cautious given the prior poor reviews but our orders (which we mainly confined to noodle and rice dishes) were served fast and fragrant. At the beginning we did have our menus thrown onto the table by the wait staff which did raise some eyebrows, and accordingly knocking off a star. Lastly, the prices on the window menu did not reflect the actual prices in the restaurant each item was around £3 more and the menu should be updated.
I don 't understand why this restaurant got such bad reviews. If you are like me, I would read all reviews and decide who I am going to believe. We are Chinese from Australia and missed Chinese foods after embarking on a Great Britain and Ireland tour. However, we know how back home, we will never go to Chinese restaurants in country towns as they cater for the Caucasian palates. So, here we are in Fort Augustus after doing the Loch Ness cruise when we found out that almost every eating place is closed. Even the fish chips restaurant which was highly recommended by our tour guide. Then, we saw this restaurant. We saw some other Chinese travellers from our tour dining in. We checked to see if the food is edible and they assured us that the food is good. We took away the hot sour soup and beef chow mein. After days of pies sandwiches, the lunch on the coach was the best meal! The hot sour soup was very tasty generous with ingredients. The beef chow mein had excellent 'wok hei ' (fragrance of the wok). Give it go!
If you are looking for perfect Chinese flavor not the strange mix flavor. Then here is the right place for you. Never mind those 1 Star comments , cuze they don't know what is good .
GARBAGE!!!It's the worst Chinese restaurant I've ever had! Honestly, I don't even want to pay for their food! I ordered two bowls of noodles, and after I finished my bowl, my wife's didn't even served! WONTON is frozen and not cooked! The brisket is too dry to swallow! Noodles are also very hard to eat. I don't know how they survived this store. I even want to pay with my credit card and they even ask me for a 10% service charge! Only pay in cash or WeChat!so gross! Please all see this comment do not come here to eat!!!!!
Chinese restaurant with staff being able to speak Mandarin, Cantonese and English. The price is reasonably high given that it is next to The Loch (it is around 13 pounds for a dish of fried rice) Food quality is unexpectedly great which is comparable to those in HK. The spicy sour soup (7 pounds) is splendid, the spiciness and sourness is on the point. The fried rice well mix the sauce with the rice and the rice used is perfect for frying (soft one), yet the texture of the chicken might be a bit too dry. The vegetable (10 pounds) is average but still serve to soothe your mouth after tasting the tasty and spicy food, but I would say it is too pricey for an easy food.
