Restaurant in the name of good food and very kind welcome of lady flowers. perfect for a lunch or dinner at two where you can share pleasant moments having delicate and very interesting courses but also perfect for cheerful dishes. in the kitchen the husband of the flowering lady will surprise you with fantastic combinations and sometimes surprising. You should let yourself go. to return and return.
Lunch organized by mutual friends, nice place, informal, clean environment and attentive and professional waitresses. Excellent food, I don't drink wine but the other diners really enjoyed the local white wine.
Looking for new places for a dinner with friends, we discovered this restaurant thanks to a street sign. Although the address might make you think of a rural location, in reality the Macina hostaria is in Cressa, between Novara and Borgomanero. We arrive on a rainy evening, but the place is easily identifiable by the illuminated sign (actually not very elegant) placed on the road and in front of which it is possible to park comfortably; other parking spaces are also available inside the courtyard overlooking the restaurant, certainly convenient for those who have difficulty walking. In addition to the illuminated sign, the place is characterized by a large mill wheel, unfortunately no longer functional, located on the side of the building and visible upon arrival. At the entrance we are greeted by the owner and two young waitresses. The temperature is rightly tested and we are made to sit at our table. The interior is made up of two rooms which are distinguished only by the different ceiling, one of which is barrel-vaulted, a sign that that part of the restaurant was created in the old mill while the second was built later, leaning against the first. The rooms are beautifully maintained and the tables are set with tablecloths worthy of the name with soft colors and elegant embroidery. The modern parquet is very clean and the mise en place is simple but refined. The menu is unfortunately laminated for anti-Covid regulations, but perfectly sanitized and convenient to use; unfortunately it is not very clear: I would have preferred that the land dishes were separated from the sea ones! Given the gloomy day I opt for meat dishes: meat tartare, tagliolini with mushrooms, sliced beef and dessert of blackberries in red port with ice cream: all beautifully cooked and served with grace and discretion. Each dish is very light; the tagliolini in particular, despite being made with mushrooms, are not greasy and the mushrooms are crunchy and very fresh. Only the cut is perhaps a little too thin, resulting a little dry despite being perfectly cooked. The wine list is excellent with even unconventional local proposals. The prices were very correct: with coffee and a bottle of rare Brigatti grapes we spent less than 55 euros each. Absolutely worth trying.
Visited on the occasion of the Fontaneto Onion Festival: menu prepared for the occasion. Good and well presented dishes (very good Tagliolini with onion and duja; unfortunately pork loin with hard onion), wide choice of wines and grappas, good prices. Friendly staff.
