The Caffe is awesome and the pastry are super delicious, it reminds me of the pastry shop in italy
My first time going here. The woman behind the counter was friendly contrary to other reviews. I ordered a cake and had them write on for a birthday. It looked beautiful. She was very fast getting it done too. I also ordered rainbow cookies. The cookies were old, dry and lacking flavor. It wasn’t busy when I went in so I thought well bad luck for me but someone has to get them right?! We sung happy birthday later in the vending and cut into the cake and I knew we had a problem when my 10 year old sweets fiend handed over his slice and said he didn’t want it. The rest us tried it with the same response. The cake was extremely dry and lacking flavor. I could have gotten a better cannoli cake at stop and shop sadly. The prices were on the higher end of moderate for an Italian bakery but after tasting it it’s clear I overpaid for last weeks stock that didn’t sell. What a shame. Everything looked beautiful and being in the neighborhood I would have love to say I found my new favorite bakery but I wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend a friend to go either. I’m sorry Roma. I had high hopes but you didn’t deliver.
Local neighborhood bagel and pastry cafe. Huge space inside with plenty of seating and a large selection. I came in and was respectfully greeted. Next time I come to this spot I will have to ask what they are known for/what they recommend to try their masterpiece. They sell cakes, pies, cookies, and small individual pastries (the owner clearly stated that they do not sell slices but rather individual small pastries). Individual pastries priced well at $4 each but I'm sure this varies depending on the type of pastry. The tiramisu slice was very visually appealing. The bottom cake portion of the tiramisu slice was unfortunately stale and hard. Chocolate pastry cake was much better, was actually moist, generic chocolate pastry, but visually appealing. Again, next time I come I will have to ask what I should absolutely try and hope that it is better than the tiramisu.
My first time buying from here so, I bought the assortment of mini cakes (red velvet, tiramisu carrot). All of them were very dry and hard on the outside. It also tasted like it was a week old or more and in the fridge too long or something. I figured at least one of the cakes would taste better but they all had the same problem. I don't understand how that could be. Not sure if I would come back to this place.
