Bidrage med feedbackWe were staying at America Farm nearby and decided to visit this pub in the evening for a drink and some crisps. The atmosphere was cozy with a fire burning and Christmas decorations up. The locals and landlord were very friendly and welcoming. We learned that on a clear day, you can see multiple counties from its high location. We booked a table for food on Friday and returned to have beef lasagne and butter chicken curry, which were delicious and generously portioned. The pub had a great vibe with lads playing pool and friendly locals to chat with. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this proper pub.
This restaurant is a hidden gem with amazing food and drinks served by friendly staff. They offer the best pies and roasts in town.
This charming rural pub offers delicious food, a wide selection of beers, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere that is also dog-friendly.
After running, walking and riding past this pub for the odd years and after hearing great things about it I thought I’d give it a go the first chance after lockdown,it’s uphill from home so we set off to make it up there opening, the outside are was although small plenty good enough, the landlord was friendly and welcoming, the views are certainly worth the effort as you can see as far as Runcorn on a evening like last night, the Guinness was lovely as was my mates cider,I only have one gripe and it’s with the locals,as a well traveled man I often struggle with the British mentality of not being very friendly until they get to know you,I find this odd and strange and they seemed to keep themselves to themselves and I was totally ignored when I did try to break the ice..this is not a criticism of them or the pub itself which is a little gem of a place it’s merely an observation and won’t stop me calling in again for a cheeky pint or two
Very small, friendly pub. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our trip there was all the nicer because it was Saturday night and we couldn’t get dinner anywhere else in the area until much later than...we wanted. Our hostess at Tower recommended it when I turned to her in desperation, telling me that the food there was excellent and they are always really good about making space for people. I have no idea why this pub was not totally booked out because the food is really good. Our corner had three tables on it and the other couples were absolutely raving about the food. Nice big portions too. Steak pie particularly good, plus the sticky toffee pudding. The views as you park are incredible, by the way. We only saw it at night, with all the lights twinkling, but it must be spectacular by day as well.
