The sushi was fresh and delicious! The staff was friendly and quick! We sat at the sushi bar and ordered the dragon, snake, and tootsie roll and a few others. We had an amazing time! Highly recommend coming for a visit!!
I didn't stay to eat the food, so I can't recommend or leave feedback on that although the food we saw looked pretty good. We arrived at 830. It was too late for a show (they close at 10). The person seating us didn't seem very excited that we were there lol he was efficient but super robotic. The food options were sushi or a totally different American style menu. Like a totally different restaurant. The ambiance felt like a hotel lobby- very bright and spaced out. It makes sense, it's in a hotel. To be honest, it wasn't a warm or friendly environment and both of my daughters asked if we could go somewhere else. We've been shocked at how kind everyone in Arizona was and this just didn't give us that same feel! I've heard good things, but we opted for something else tonight
Food was good. Service was horrible. I got my food (just one sushi roll) after everyone at my table was already done eating, and we had empty water glasses for most of our meal even though it seemed there were about as many servers as tables. Water glasses would be empty and we wouldn't see the waitress again for 30+ minutes, and then upon asking for water it took another 5-10. I prefer the atmosphere and service at Tepan Fuji for sure. If you're going to pay that much it would be nice to at least have water.
Attempted to order to-go one night and staff informed me quietly that they had a gas leak and asked me to leave because they didn't know when they could re-open. They still had guests sitting at tables, waiting for their food and allowed them to stay, and they were not announcing or notifying the guests of the connected hotel which felt very strange. A few days later, I returned for dine in. The service was very slow and the server didn't remember the items we asked for like drink refills, new dishes to replace dirty ones that were brought out, etc. The server was fairly attentive to the table next to us so I assumed they were overwhelmed by the few tables they had. They couldn't answer the questions we had on any of the menu items and was unfamiliar with ingredients. Overall, the food was fresh but a bit overpriced.
