Garden View Cafe - Fitzroy

The prices are affordable and the location is fantastic, offering views of the Carlton Gardens. There are indoor and outdoor seating options, or guests can opt to have a picnic in the gardens. They are happy to customize sandwiches according to guests' preferences, which is a standout feature. I always enjoy returning to this place.

After visiting the museum, we were in need of lunch and stumbled upon a cafe with a garden view near the tram stop. The staff was friendly, the burger was fantastic, and the coffee was excellent - all at great prices! It's rare to find such affordable options in the city. Thank you for a delicious and inexpensive lunch.

The Garden View Cafe is a charming and traditional cafe with a fantastic location across from the exhibition gardens. The view from the window is lovely. The menu offers a variety of typical snacks and dishes. The service is efficient, attentive, and courteous. While it may feel like you're in Fitzroy, it's definitely far from being a hipster hangout. The focus here is on serving hearty and satisfying meals. My smashed avocado and speck dish looked impressive when it arrived at the table. The avocado portion was a bit small, only a smear on one of the bread slices. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the tomatoes were fresh and crunchy. The generous portion of speck was flavorful and nicely presented. However, the bread was not what I had requested, but overall, the dish was enjoyable and worth the $14 price tag. My long black coffee was acceptable, but lacked depth of flavor. The lack of culinary pretentiousness added to my overall positive experience at the cafe.

If I can give it a minus score, I would not improve the place since my last visit. as there are no food exhaust fans used, they leave stinking of foods that were cooked. it was a really hot day and they had. no air cone. I asked for aircon and was told it was “not working”. I know the owner wants to save money, but customer comfort and service should be their number one priority. my suggestion looks different.

It's a good way to start the day when one arrives into the city early in the morning to see the lights on at the Garden View Cafe. The smiles are bright, the greetings are friendly and the coffee is great (and delivered promptly). Thank...You!!
