Tapatios Cocina Mexicana - Fitchburg

Moving up from Oklahoma, we were pretty worried about Mexican cuisine in Wisconsin. Our fears were confirmed at a few points (HyVee enchilada), but a recommendation to Tapatios has been a relief.This is that good small-town Mexican that puts love into the food instead of fluff. We felt welcome as soon as we walked in, greeted with chips and salsa. Drinks were exactly what we wanted and the food came exceptionally fast. 10 out of 10.

I love everything about this place. The ambiance, the staff, the music and especially the food. The food is always so fresh and you can tell they care about the dishes that they service their customers. I’ve had a wide range of their foods, from tacos, to chilaquiles, to burritos and they are always fantastic. I recommend them to all of my friends! Also their queso is some of the best I have ever had!Recommend:The shrimp, al pastor and the birria tacos!

Mexican restaurant snuggled within a strip mall, with plenty of parking. I'm in town for a few days for a conference in downtown Madison and we selected this restaurant based on it's Google reviews. Upon arrival, we found that it was a restaurant in the running for best Mexican restaurant in Madison. After going through the reviews, I decided to go with the Birria Estilo Jalisco. This meal includes a quesabirria taco, rice, beans, with a side of onions, cilantro, limes and tortillas. The atmosphere is comfy and the place was pretty crowded for a Tuesday evening. The server quickly brought us chips, salsa and water. Everyone else in my party had: Agua de Horchata, Agua de Jamaica, Enchiladas de Abuelita, Chimichanga de Carne Asada and the Taco meal, all which come with rice beans. The Birria was nice and tender and the flavor was good too I was very happy with the meal. Everyone said their food was good too. The server was attentive and kept checking in on us to make sure we had what we needed. If I'm ever in town again, I'd come back.Kid friendliness: Family atmosphere and definitely kid friendly but does not offer a kids menu.Parking: Plenty of free parking

Salsa was fresh and very tasty. The best tacos I've ever had. Very generous with the meat and the seasonings were amazing. I was so sad that I was too full to order more. I really want to go back here just for the tacos and salsa again.Food: 5/5

Chicken quesadilla was very good! I had the mango margarita also and liked it a lot. Overall a great experience
