Bidrage med feedbackWe visited the place for an aperitif (great Aperol Spritz) and enjoyed the selection of things to eat that come with the drinks. Staff was friendly and attentive, don't let yourself be scared away by the big beard on an otherwise handsome face!
This is a very modern looking and inviting cafe, particularly when you have been trudging around Florence and are headed back to your car to go home. It is also well fitted out even though it is reasonably small. We stopped initially to have a coffee but noticed that they had a hand made sign advertising fresh orange juice for EUR 4-00. This was the only price list I noticed. We ordered two coffees, two orange juices and two croissants. I was surprised when the young woman who served me said the cost was EUR 18-00 and I asked for a receipt. I normally get receipts in any event to keep track of where we have been. Initially she said that she was unable to give me a receipt as the machine isn 't working but miraculously it then did when I insisted and she reluctantly gave me the receipt. It was then that I noticed we had been charged EUR 5-00 for the orange juices instead of EUR 4-00 as well as EUR 2-20 each for the coffees and EUR 1-80 for the croissants. She then reluctantly reimbursed us the EUR 2-00 without an apology. This was small bickies and I probably should have just let it go but I hate being ripped off.
I work around the corner and I wanted something warm and quick to eat in my lunch hour. I placed my order at about 1.15pm gnocchi con zucca e Gorgonzola. Sounded tasty. It’s a small bar with about 16 places. There was a table of 5 just being served as I sat down and another couple in front of me. Well, I waited and waited and waited and still waited. At 1.50 I went to the waitress to ask when it was coming. No real response came. So I went back to my table. Still nothing. 2 o’clock came. I had to go back to work. 45 minutes for a bowl of gnocchi??!!! I am a chef and trust me, I should have been eating at the latest 1.30. How were the gnocchi? No idea. I bought a sandwich from a bakers across the street. Never going back.
We lived next to this place on the via Palazzuolo and went here fo breakfasts. Cappuccino, espresso and croissants are very good.
Stopped in when we found ourselves a little off the beaten path from our AirBnB by the Uffizi. Friendly staff, good pastries, great cappuccino and good prices.
