I was looking forward to the experience after I heard so much about it. I would give him a high sign of his uniqueness as a gourmet experience. However, it is much overpriced at 125euro per person.
We drove an hour south of our hotel in rouffach, based on conde nasts recommended by antonys as premier from the region. it wasn't disappointed. we visited in november on a weekday and had the pleasure of the only customers in. to be loaded. we have made the 9-course cheese tasting, and although we do not like each of the cheeses, all were unique and the tasting itself was a pleasure in a lovely half-cellar flat wine tasting room. the tasting included big brot, and we also ordered wein so that it was really a decent lunch. if they have no time for a tasting (but they should make time), the cheese counter is large and full of different cheeses. we are american and one of the reasons why we have visited france is to have big cheese. we have it here. a word on navigation it is really out of the beaten away. I'm not sure how her gps will guide her, but ours have taken us to the home of a nice retired couple who somehow lived on the same road on another number 5. they kindly brought us to the right place on the road. this is the NUR place in France, where our gps could not properly identify. it is worth trying to get there.
There is no place like antony’s. the location is a little off the beaten path, the "house ' old and very charming, the small dining room as intimate as they come, and the selection of the exquisite cheese amazing. But there is something more here....Antony 's is an example of a man's desire and intention to offer the best of French cheese simply, honestly and respectfully. antony offers its cheese only when they are mature and perfectly ready to enjoy. the evening 'zelebration von käse' is an extravaganza! the day tasting is also excellent and for the starter is somewhat simpler, both in terms of intensity and volume. the wee are well chosen, with the possibility of the smaller bottles (375) as well as full. I can never go without a few of the ones that I 'met' on this day or an old love or two. the shop wears wee, jams and a lot of local products and some of the best salted butter I ever had. go when they can, as often as they can. and let us all hope that antony 's continue to offer us that quiet remarkable and delicious experiences come for generations.
Great cheese tasting. Small room seating only ca 15 people. Tried many kinds of cheese and the host told the story behind each of them. Go for the accompanying premium wine package. It is worth it.
