Pompeo's Italian Seafood

Great service, the owner’s daughter i think. Huge menu Pompeo himself recommended the veal parmesan. It was great, large portions. Wine list was ok, had some good Italian wine with dinner. I want to go back for the pizza.

WOW! What a terrible experience! Ordered a bottle of wine and when my dinner companion was offered the opportunity to taste it, politely told the server it was not good and asked for the wine menu to order a different bottle. The server got anxious and said this had never happened before and had to go ask the owner who was also cooking in the kitchen what to do. We were sitting at the table furthest from the kitchen and could plainly hear him screaming at her saying “What am I supposed to do with an open bottle of wine!”. He continued yelling at her and she came back to our table and said she would just buy the wine. My dinner companion told the server we would buy the wine and leave. She begged us not to go and I fear that she thought she would get blamed by this tyrant for us leaving. We will never return and feel bad for the servers who choose to work for this man. We got off cheap, $25 for a $4 bottle of wine. I’m wondering Mario, was it worth losing us as guests and possibly others?
