Bidrage med feedbackSushi Rio is located next to Ho Jiak, Haymarket and is quite spacious. The whole experience was amazing! The food was great, the ambiance of the restaurant was nice and the chef staff were very welcoming. The food was delicious, the ingredients were fresh (especially the sashimi! and everything was clean. The restaurant also provided free hot tea during this cold weather and the chef also gave us 2 complimentary dishes. The only downside is that the seating area is just single seats around the sushi train, so there are no tables for groups. Overall, I would definitely come back because I loved the experience and would recommend this to everyone. A 10/10 for sure
One of the best Japanese casual dining places in Sydney, freshly made, didnt skimp on ingredients and most importantly, nicely toasted nori but compared to other places in the world, it’s mediocre. (Order it freshly made through tablet, not the conveyor belt)
We went to Ho Jiak in Haymarket last night, and happened to see Sushi Rio next to it. The promise of $3.50 sushi drew us in and made us unfaithful to Sushi Hotaru. Overall Sushi Rio was great. I’m not going to do a detailed review of 14 different items so I will instead review the vibe. It was a very cosy restaurant with a small train around a central sushi preparation area. There was only one sushi chef, who was very responsive to us and the 3 other parties who were dining at the same time. It felt very intimate, like in Japan, to have the one sushi chef catering to us individually.
Cheap eats here. $3.50 per plate and get 5% off if you pay by cash. So many options from the train or choose from the touch screen. Handrolls and authentically made nigiri are included in the deal. They also cater with platters for parties.Would recommend for casual meals. Not a bad choice if it’s not a hot day but there was no air con today.
Quick, efficient and delicious that's how I would describe Sushi Rio. The staff were nice, they smile a lot and it feels like Japan in Sydney.<br/ <br/ Would recommend to eat for lunch.
