Bidrage med feedbackDisappointing and won’t be back.Good selection of booze and Umeshu.Average food, service and atmosphere. Overpriced dumplings, duck pancakes average, pork buns soggy, soupy dumplings weren’t soupy, prawn dumplings chunks of prawn rather than a whole prawn. It was adequate, but I’ve had much better dumplings in Chinatown for 1/2 the price!Hole in the wall is one thing, but this lacks any atmosphere IMHO, can’t just stick plastic fish in a tank and stick up a neon sign. Didn’t even have proper Chinese chill in oil. Don’t like to eat off square metal trays as plates.Based on other reviews unsure if went on a bad night or if people haven’t had good dumplings before.
While lady was helpful making food suggestions over the phone for pick up, the price was not clearly stated and turned out to be very overpriced. Dumplings for two people (no drinks) $72. I should have confirmed the price over the phone; my fault. As others have stated, the dumplings are just ok (quite average for the price). Quantity was tiny for the price. Duck pancakes were good.I won't return unfortunately.
Overpriced dumplings for the quality you're getting, and not much in the way of atmosphere to make up for it likely why the place was pretty empty in peak hour. Also probably not helped by the snippy Irish bloke behind the bar who did his best to make everyone feel equally uncomfortable.
Yum yum!!! Such good food service and a great time xx
What a little gem in Redfern! It’s a small but cosy bar within mins of Redfern station. If you’re a fan of Sake and Dumplings this is the place for you. You’ll also meet the nicest staff at Happy D’s. For someone who doesn’t know much about Sake, this place really opened my eyes to it thanks to the friendly staff there. It can get busy on Fridays so book ahead. Covid safe there’s a good amount of space between the people at the bar
