Essence Cafe - Feilding

Very high quality food, very knowledgeable waitresses and chefs. Most of the menu has a gluten free option. They are always happy to substitute things to get your money worth. Only down side is no gluten free fryer.

Excellent quality food options. If you are coeliac let them know and they are happy to modify things to make safe. If just gluten free, the majority of the menu is either already gf or modifiable. Happy to also modify for dairy free, vegetarian, vegan etc.

Manawatu is blessed with a wide selection of restaurants and cafes. We were pleasantly surprised with Essence in friendly Feilding. We were served quickly and our drink order came with time to let us chat before ordering our lunch. My main was delicious, a simple bacon and chicken sandwich with chips. My wife had the beef burger. We were all served at the same time. Even with a large group opposite us we could talk without having to strain to be heard. In fact the interior is delightful. Our waitress even chased us down the road as I'd left my friends gift of honey behind. Happily return again. Thanks Essence for a wonderful lunch.

Food was good and reasonably priced. Only 1 working in the kitchen 2 Sundays ago, so meals were slow to come out even when the place was a quarter full.

Called in for an easy meal. Got the steak eggs and chips. Huge portions and cooked to perfection. The wait staff were awesome and the chef asked if we wanted mushroom sauce with our meals. The sauce was killer tasty. Happy to highly recommend this place.
