Bidrage med feedbackGood place to enjoy a good glass of wine with the company of cheese and Parma ham. The decoration is amazing.
Stopped here for a quick lunch ended up with a pork sandwich (bifana), a tray of presunto and chouriço, and melted Azeitão sheep cheese. All very tasty and washed down with the slightly fizzy (and delicious) house white wine. Not the absolutely cheapest place around but the food was top quality, and the atmosphere relaxed, to say the least. This is no tourist trap.
Do you like trendy, hype, full of vibe places filled of people just like you? Than Adega do Amável is not for you. This is the real deal, the Portuguese Adega (Wine Cellar) experience. Drink and Eat with the locals, they may not speak you language but be patient, be happy, it's worth it. Try the local white wine (The owner calls it his Moet Chandon), it's amazing. Ask for the tapa of the day or a plate of smoked ham and local cheese. He also has some amazing canned delicacies, fresh bead and a great selection of spirits.
This is a great place, worth the drive, as it is a bit far away from the city centre. The owner is perfectly fluent in English, and the environment is quaint. Bring a large croud!
Tradition at its best. Timeless
