Gathering Grounds Cafe - Fairfax

Two in our party ordered a pineapple and banana fruit smoothie. I've tasted better, but it was OK. However, we both developed food poisoning with severe diarrhea. I noticed that during beverage preparation for another drink, and employee was holding the paper cup with his ungloved thumb inside the paper cup, while it was still empty. I don't know what caused our food poisoning, but I do know that hygienic practices are lacking in at least one employee.

Came here for an evening coffee. The atmosphere is great for studying, catching up, or anything in between. It?s not too loud, soft music playing in the background. There is plenty of seating in the back if you?re studying, or comfy seats in the front for relaxing. The staff were great, super kind. Coffee was affordable and reasonably priced. I ordered a caramel macchiato which was delicious. I will be back to this location and suggest you try it out as well.

I stopped in late afternoon for the first time to try this place out. Very cute inside and the barista was very friendly and patient as I browsed the options. I went with a butterscotch latte. Unfortunately, I just didn?t love the taste. It was also more pricey than I expected for a coffee house right off of a college campus. I believe it was about $7 for a small latte. Might be worth paying that if it was delicious but alas, it was not. I may try their regular drip coffee for

I love going here and invite my friends to join me all the time and I really think it's because of the baristas. I was so happy to have a spot with vegan options like the vegan blueberry croissant and vegan cookies but now that it's been taken away, i am left heartbroken. One star for management, five stars for customer service.

Cute place and nice food however the oven neeeeeeeeeed to be changed. Their food taste like diesel fuel ?? I ordered a cookie it?s delicious ???? however the bottom part taste like diesel from the burnt and old oven. Today I ordered cinnamon bun and I can see the dusty black burnt oven metal on my frosting ???? and I literally throw it to the garbage coz honestly I could not swallow it. I will never buy food from them however I will be back for their coffee ???????
