Da Pippi - Faggeto lario

This is not a review, but a message of thanks from two Spanish travelers to the owners of the pippi trattoria. Last July 20, I and carmen (my wife,) that we were on a wedding trip, we had the chance to stop at lunch in your trattoria. the atmosphere was familiar and welcoming, a little noisy but not silent, just like a house. the interior of the room made us feel very comfortable, without any strange avant-garde. the food was delicious, without being able to distinguish a dish from others, they were all very good and despite being very abundant we ate them all. but what we want to thank more is the attention of the lady who served us, who without understanding us for nothing (because we don't speak Italian) and with a lot of sweetness managed to make us eat with great tranquility and pleasure. It is a strange feeling, because of all the places we have visited in such a tourist place as the lake of como, the one to which we are most affectionate is this small trattoria and the intimate, quiet and delicious evening that we spent on July 20. Thank you very much and we hope to return.

We were invited here for a Sunday lunch. historical trattoria according to the sign and to the stories of those who know it better. after inventing a parking lot as the two communal parking pitches were full upon our arrival, you take a few steps between alleys to reach the place, which is next to the church. you sit at the table with already appetizers served in the center and the bottles of open wine, all ready to begin, the menu is fixed, they think about all of them. The flow rates are generous. cotechino with taragna, lazzoccheri, stinco with potatoes and finally sweets of the house. I didn't like polenta and even lazzoccheri I ate better, very good instead the stinco, cooked to perfection. the service is almost non-existent, bring a dish to the table and then each one uses, but there is, it is in tune with the local. It is a tractor in the old way, the time seems to have almost stopped, stopped so much that at the time of the account comes the most painful key: payment only in cash. I can accept the retro style also in ways to do, but not at this point not to be able to pay with the card in 2022, also because we were in quite large group. Overall however, I don't think I'm going back and I feel like I'm only recommending it to those who search for a particular place in line with what I described.
