Bidrage med feedbackI went to this restaurant with a group of about 50 people for dinner after a day of conferences. One of the best things about this place is its location, tucked away from the busy Fore Street. Diners can relax in a quiet garden before their meal. When you go upstairs to the restaurant, be prepared to pay in cash if you're only buying one drink at a time, as there is a minimum card limit of £10. Some may find this amount a bit excessive, but once you see the prices on the drinks, you might change your mind. A gin and tonic in a half-filled collins glass costs £5, made with Gordons gin and soda tap water, which was disappointing. For the food, I had duck, followed by pork belly and a chocolate torte for dessert. The chocolate torte was delicious, but some people missed out on their choice of dessert due to an issue with apple crumbles. The duck and pork were both confit, but unfortunately, they were dry. Vegetarians had a watery risotto. In terms of service, the younger staff did well in keeping up with everything and making sure there wasn't too much of a wait between courses. However, the older staff seemed very inconvenienced by our presence. A special mention goes to a man wearing a flat cap, who rudely tapped on a glass to let us know he was locking the doors in 10 minutes. Overall, the experience was okay, but I probably wouldn't go back because it was too expensive for what we got.
A few years ago, I made a reservation for my parents at this hotel. They are usually very particular about where they stay, but they have now visited this hotel 4 times and continue to stay twice a year. I cannot praise this hotel enough. If my parents are happy with their stay, then I am too, as they are not easily impressed. Kudos to the staff for always making my parents feel special during their visits.
We have eaten here quite a few times, in the past we have taken friends here for a special meal ,this time we went for Sunday lunch on our own , the staff seemed to be under stress, when he food arrived it was not as good as before it was ok. The price was to high for what we got
If you have a special occasion to celebrate or simply feel like treating yourself, The Treasury Restaurant should be at the top of your list. This was our third visit to the restaurant, and each time it has exceeded our expectations for a memorable evening. Tucked away in the lovely St Olaves Hotel, the restaurant may be easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Once you enter the courtyard from the bustling city street, you are immediately transported into a peaceful and historical atmosphere. The staff are always welcoming, and pre-dinner drinks are enjoyed in the cozy bar area. After selecting your dishes from the diverse menu, you are led into the immaculate Treasury Restaurant. The intimate setting creates a cozy ambiance, and the attentive staff provide excellent service. The food is expertly presented, using high-quality ingredients that are cooked to perfection by a chef who is passionate about delivering a true culinary experience. The Treasury Restaurant is definitely one of our favorite spots in Exeter, offering great value for the exceptional dining experience it provides.
Dined here with my partner last Valentine's Day immediately, the atmosphere was relaxing and very romantic. Their special menu that night provided lots of choice (with beautiful fish dishes) as did the extensive wine list. The fish dishes we went for were sublime; melt in the mouth and full of flavour with excellent sides. The wine was brilliant as was the dessert and coffee. Service was brilliant throughout the night and the whole evening was a truly wonderful experience. Was quite pricey but I would definitely say it was worth it would dine here again without hesitation.
