Cote Brasserie Exeter

We were seated at a lovely table with glorious view of the Cathedral. Service was slow, which was okay but lacked attention. No side plates, table wasn’t properly clean, for example. The tart was very good but the mussels were not really fresh. We eat at Cote quite a lot and this was an okay but not top experience.

Lovely meal and very friendly service. The prawn gratinee was excellent and the chocolate fondant was delicious.

Absolutely delicious meal with great service. Only gripe is that it was extremely loud on the first floor couldnt even hold a conversation, but we were there at peak time on a friday night.

An attractive venue with splendid view of the cathedral makes for and enjoyable experience. The food is delicious with a good choice and the staff friendly, competent and helpful. Noise can be a problem at busy times and ideally fewer tables and better sound absorption (materials, sound proofing) would help. Overall as a reasonably regular customer I have always enjoyed coming to the restaurant and its atmosphere-keep on with the good work....
