Hewn - Evanston

The morning balls are delicious! The chocolate croissants are also very good. You can't do anything wrong with Hewn.

Love the atmosphere. Bread and Croissant is amazing as always. But people, a brownie baked in a canel-shape decorated with chocolate sauce is not a channel. It was quite excited and then felt a bit of this confused.

This place doesn't need a review, it's just the best. But wanted to give a cry for ham and cheese croissants, the hands down the best I ever had. Also love the iced tea – simply classic, delicious black tea.

Hewn is a great place. You have many great pastries like croissants, gallets and canellis. They have many sandwiches and most of them are really good, but I still have to try them all. My darling must be the Cuban sandwich. Hewn definitely deserves 5 stars, and I would say that you are trying if you are in the area.

My family and I have never been to this location. We only been to the satellite store in libertyville. My husband called here because this is where all the products are baked and sent to libertyville, we were told, to order the rum cake for my birthday. The person that picked up the phone spoke to my husband and apparently was going to check with the boss because they currently not baking it. When the boss picked up the phone, they basically played dumb and bluntly told my husband that the rum cake is not an option at all. No ands ifs or buts and he should look online if he needs anything. I don 't think this is a way to treat a consumer...but instead an easy way to lose a customer.
