Bidrage med feedbackWe are all used to the Sunshine Coast closing early but this place takes the cake. Booked for outdoors however was awkwardly told that there wasn't any more tables available outdoors, when clearly there was (they were all available) it's more likely you just didn't want to open that section up. This is fine but be up front and honest about it. We were pushed several times to have orders placed and told the kitchen was closing at 7.30pm (on a Saturday night) Bar closed by 8pm???, without even an offer for last drinks and told that the Chief locks up all the alcohol when they leave. I politely quizzed why the waitstaff weren't capable of pouring a glass of wine??? the junior waiter seemed scared to answer. I'm pretty sure the whole purpose of this kind of business is to politely depart us from as much money as possible, whilst giving a relaxing experience? you failed miserably here! No desert offered as the chiefs were well gone by 8pm. An attractive venue but a cold atmosphere. no music, just the sound of a kitchen being cleaned and packed up. I've worked in the industry for years and I understand the pressures that venues like this are under, however pushing the few customers you have out the door so you can close early isn't a recipe for long term success. I had an overwhelming sense that everyone (other than the junior waiter, who was great btw) would rather have been somewhere else.
Food was pretty decent, unfortunately the service is lacking. Cosy surroundings, entrees were good. However, when mains were served I received my pasta with big olives right on the plate. I had requested no olives and told this to the sweet waitress when she came to our table. She apologised and took it back to the kitchen no big problem, mistakes happen! The waiter who had initially taken our order comes back to the table standing with the pasta in his hand and accusatorially says that the pasta had not been ordered without olives as this was not written on the slip. Other’s at the table told him it was clearly said when ordering I mean it is his fault if he did not write it down?? He suggested that I’d eat the pasta and pick out the olives as it would take a long time to cook a new dish without olives. Restaurant was not even half full, there were 6 tables. I agreed reluctantly, took the dish and ate half which had a vague taste of olives unfortunately. Two people had ordered lamb, which was amazing. The other two’s pastas were average. We further ordered more drinks half way through the meal (1 beer, 1 bottle of wine). Only the beer came and by the time we realised, we just couldn’t be bothered. My spaghetti was taken off the bill by the nice waitress, but all in all it just wasn’t a great night and the communication from the waiter could have been done in a much better manner.

Fabulous food, friendly staff and great for any special venue.
Pleasant welcome by a smiling young person, who also served us professionally. The setting is very nice and clean. On the dishes only one bad point for my pizza, the plates of my wife and my daughter were in good taste in the Italian style. A special note for the quality of the coffee. Overall I recommend this establishment. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
