Jade Palace - Eugene

Ok, I read the two reviews for this after taking a shot in the dark and ordering over the phone. Have yet to find good Chinese food in Eugene. Food came on time, was hot. Egg Flower Soup? YUKKK (how do you F that up? Sweet Sour Pork: SOGGY w/watery sauce that smelled like tainted bell pepper. I'd guess 90% of the ingredients crawled out of a can. It was foul, and one of (strike that THE WORST Chinese food experiences ever.... hmmm... back to long drives or Wanchai Ferry from the freezer section. Only Bright side: I didn't get sick off of their food. (When in Eugene, I’d recommend sticking with Thai, or Thai Fusion. You'll have better luck .

I have to say this has been one of the worst Chinese meals I've had in the United States. We ordered the dinner special (chow mein with crispy noodles, mar far (deep fried) chicken, and pork fried rice) and spicy broccoli tofu. The deep fried chicken was served up with sweet chili sauce, nothing special sweet and spicy, the bottled stuff. The chow mein tasted like it came out of the can, very little flavor and was covered in bean sprouts. There were more bean sprouts than noodles. The pork rice, again, surprising unflavorful but for the odd pork bit found in the rice. The broccoli tofu was the biggest disappointment. We ordered extra spicy, and although there was heat it was tasteless, they hadn't added salt! The sauce at the bottom of the dish was too watery to stay on the vegetables, and gave it no added flavor. To sum it up, a most disappointing experience. They need a new cook.

We go here for their seafood buffet. Great selection (crab, scallops etc). It is the best value, especially if you want to try a lot of menu items. Someone who works there once told me that they have the cleanest kitchen in the city. They have been here forever, and we have never had any issues! Overall, good Chinese food.

We have eaten Jade Palce food for 17 years now It is great.
