Bidrage med feedbackClassic atmosphere, thought it would be more busy for a Saturday evening dinner. great meal, I ordered the pollo bolognese, it was fantastic. service was prompt, we were one of three parties in the night, although, not sure how it would be if it were more business.
First time I have been less than satisfied, party of 15, which we did have a reservation, time between salad a dinner unacceptable. Time of all entrees coming out at the same time, WAY OFF, temperature of food, Luke warm. One entree was a steak meal, so grisly it was sent back. We have come here for our girls night out for I can't say how many years, this was the final one. Very sad
Food was good, portions VERY small compared to past visits. $18.00 for 2 small crab cake appetizers rediculous!!! Shrimp scampi Gambini was 3 shrimp with 3 small round ravioli for $28.00 It will take us a LONG time before we return or recommend Alto Cucina to our family and friends.
Food was good. The reasons for only a three rating are 1. They were out of veal at 5 PM on Friday. 2. Some of the menus had a strange odor, which my daughters noticed right away when opening their menus. 3. No kid 's menu. We asked about it, waitress said no. However AFTER she brought a $14 monster plate of spaghetti and two meatballs for our little girl, she told us about a cheaper meatball appetizer that came with 2 big meatballs and some spaghetti perfect for a child.
Poor Management This was our second visit to Alto Cucina. It 'd been a couple of years since our last visit, so we decided to get reservations for 7:15 on a Saturday night. Our waitress was new, so we were patient. She forgot our bread and took about a half hour to get drinks to us. When she finally returned to take our orders, she couldn 't answer any of my wife 's questions about wine or the entrees. After seeing others who arrived after us finishing up their meals, we began to get a bit impatient. We politely asked her to check on our food, and were told there was a large party upstairs. Ok, no problem. After she stopped by twice more to tell us our food was on the grill and almost ready we finally were served an hour and 45 minutes after our reservation time. I requested the manager, and this is where things imploded. Firstly, the manager was sent to the wrong table (they also complained) and I had to flag him down. I asked for him to box up our meals because, frankly, I 'd lost my appetite by then. He apologized and said he 'd comp one meal and not stamp our Fine Dining Card. The bill still came to over $50 and I told him there was no way we were paying that, considering how long it took. The manager said fine, took our boxed food away from us, and hurriedly walked away to reduce our check to $26 (which was two glasses of wine- more expensive than menu price). I told him I was very disappointed compared to the last time I was there and that I would not return. The guy couldn 't have cared less. Disappointing waitress (which is understandable as she is new, but she did not communicate with us as she should have), but incredibly poor customer management skills. I 'm still baffled at how the whole situation was handled. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this Alto Cucina.
