Baenklialp - Engelberg

Been with a friend. The restaurant was not full and 2 waiters had to take care of all the guests. We had to wait long for order and especially for the check. Live band was playing local swiss music. Not our cup of tea but nice if you like it. The food quality was average. The schnitzel was too salty. Nothing wasn't that good, just average and the prices were high. Switzerland and Endelberg are expensive but had better dinner in other places.

One of the best places in Engelberg for a night out, the food is fantastic, the quantities are enormous, and the service friendly and discreet. Get yourself a window table and town will be at your feet. We had a fantastic supper, two of us had Fondue Bourguignon. and the other Cordon Bleu. we could not praise the food more. If you like good Swiss traditional food, this is the place for you.

Allowed me to book in early after a long overnight flight very impressed!

When a 3 star place deserves 5 star for comfort/price/location. This hotel has everything you need for a brief stay in Engelberg. Rooms are spacios, beds are comfortable, view is stunnig, food in the restaurant is very good. The local eateries are mostly overpriced so taking a half-board option saved us a lot of money. Thow situated on the hill in the outskirts of the town, the center is easily accessible by 5 minutes walk or drive.
