Great service and a perfect location on the riverbank. Always friendly staff and the views from the terrace are lovely.

Good service, good price-quality, delicious food. We found what we were looking for: Bavarian Schweine Haxe (the thigh of the pig). It was delicious! With mashed patatoes and sauerkraut.

The food and service were both top-notch. Friendly staff and an awesome food! Would definitely recommend!

After walking down the entire beautiful Rhine promenade and discovering that some of the many other cafes and restaurants had sold out on the gloriously sunny Sunday afternoon, we ended up at Schlemmerich. The restaurant has interesting balcony-like areas with seating outside and a smaller...indoor seating area with a view of a church. We sat outside but protected from the wind by a huge awning with a view of the Rhine and of the newly renovated city park with war monument next to the harbor. The menu had some interesting items for dinner, but we only had time for coffee and cake. Our cake was little more than lots of canned whipped cream between two slices of thin pastry, the waffles were the cheap kind you can buy in supermarkets, the cherries tasted burnt, and the coffee was really bad. Maybe it was just a bad day, but with the number of other cafes right on the water, I'd have thought that competition would've been more of a guarantee for quality.

My wife and I ate at the Schlemmerich a couple of times during a holiday in Emmerich am Rhine. We found the food good, the service good and the suuroundings very pleasant.
