The Docky Hut - Ely

The Docky hat is a very sweet and comfortable place to stop after visiting the Nature Reserve Wicken Fen for a light lunch, cake or warm drink. The café is wheelchair accessible and you can take your dog to the café when you place your order, but then you have to sit outside. There are picnic benches and water dishes. Because the vegan sandwich options were sold out at 1 o'clock (please make more! I enjoyed a parsnip and apple soup with a coffee. I got 25p from my drink for my own reusable cup. The rest of my party had vegan baked potato with beans and a coconut milk cure that, warned, does not come with rice. The portions of soup and curry were in cups that did not fill up the tank after a morning of walking, but bought us enough time to bring us to a greater meal. The table nearby had vegan pasties that looked a bit more substantially. Will stop there again, but maybe only for a coffee, unless they have the vegan sandwiches available.

The restaurant now offers various tasty vegan options on their menu, such as freshly baked vegan pasties, jacket potatoes, hot vegan sausage sandwiches, and cakes. They also have vegan coleslaw available. We love coming here frequently to enjoy the delicious food and taking a leisurely walk around the national trust site afterwards.
