Royal Elche Coffee Shop - Elx

Small shopping centre coffee shop and snack bar. Service was OK, not pushy. 2 coffees and 2 Tapas all of which were OK. Slightly miffed to be charged an extra 50 cent just for a little extra warm milk for the coffee. Total 10 euro

A typical supermarket café. It offers light bites, snacks, meals and a range of desserts. It also has a soft play area for children but this is not a crèche for while you do your shopping. Its bright, pleasant and somewhere to regroup after shopping. The only downside is the speed of service. Unlike the rest of Spanish cafes with their laid back approach to service you will be lucky to get your bum on a seat before a member of staff is asking you what you would like to order. Even if you shoo them away while you read the extensive menus (there are 4 or 5 of them) they will be back before you are half way through. As all the staff are the same it must be part of basic training for this group. Its a shame as I like to wind down, peruse the menu and take my time before ordering. Quality and quantity of the food is very good and makes the battle of wills an interesting part of shopping at Carrafour.

El café es espectacular, el servicio es increíble, las camareras son encantadoras y puedo decir que los bocadillos son únicos!! Un lugar ideal para quedar a tomar algo, comer o disfrutar en compañía antes de hacer tus compras!!!!!

Attached to Carrefour is Royal Mediterraneo cafe. Upmarket, trendy black&white decor, bright, and with design overtones. Selection from the menu whenever we are there in Carrefour. Convenient location, good food though limited selection and wines/beers. Staff are friendly, prompt, and service with a smile. Go there every 2 or 3 days when in Elche. I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), all sightseeing has to be well-researched and not overly taxing; I wear a legbrace. There are bocadillos and fast-food, we prefer meals with filling salads, and to-die-for-fall-of-the-bone pork shank. Very reasonable prices, convenient location.
