Bidrage med feedbackI stopped by for a late breakfast around 1pm. It was a cozy little place, nice and warm with great coffee, food, and service. Definitely worth a visit.
We took the bus (which was nearly empty) to Warrandyte for a lovely stroll around Warrandyte Reserve. The bus stopped there, where we grabbed coffee before our walk and returned for lunch afterward. I ordered the vegetarian Breaky Burger and my partner got the Mediterranean Focaccia. Both dishes were delicious and reasonably priced, and the coffee was also quite good. We would definitely return for another visit.
My husband and I stopped by for lunch at this restaurant. He ordered two poached eggs on toast while I opted for the chicken and avocado focaccia. The eggs were satisfactory, but the toast was served without butter, which seemed to be their usual practice. My focaccia was decent in taste, but the avocado was in poor condition, completely bruised and brown with no hint of green. It was disappointing to see such low-quality produce being served to guests. When I brought this to the attention of the chef after finishing my meal, she simply shrugged. On the bright side, the wait staff was courteous, efficient, and helpful throughout our visit.
For a cafe with such a great location, they are missing such an opportunity. Cold as a barn, pleasant but inattentive staff, plates left on tables, food average...not for me
My family and I, or just me, visit Warrandyte Cafe regularly. The setting is gorgeous, underneath the tall and shady eucalypts that have been there for a long time. In summer it is lovely sitting beneath the trees, hearing the cicadas, and enjoying the good and tasty food and beverages. The menu is quite varied and the food is always delicious and generous. There is a good range of drinks and desserts. You will leave feeling well fed. I have always found the staff to be friendly and extremely helpful. Prices are very reasonable. Some reckon with the road so close it is noisy, but from my perspective it is never mega busy, and the road noise seems to disappear into the background. The flip side is that about 50metres behind the cafe is the Yarra River. So after a big eat you can walk by the river to peal away those kilojoules, or lie on the grass and nap, or sit by the river and just enjoy what it offers.
