C Tod firstly I know this claygate fish in for years and know the owners really well too as I’ve used them quite a lot in the past this is because it’s local.. secondly I know the owners of the new chippy in Esher and used them as well and no I’m not the owner of the new chippy in Esher but I know them really well as his been in Esher for years.. I also would not use my actual name to be posting a review which I did as you can see.. lastly you are not a customer for claygaye fish inn you are the owner CAROLINE OR DAUGHTER I think you need to get a life and stop using fake names to write reviews on other business in claygate and surrounding areas
S Kara you must have visited the wrong shop to rate it 0! You’re not the owner of the new chippy in Esher are you We have been going to this small family business for the past 15 years and have never had a bad experience. Caroline is one of the friendliest people on the parade always chatty. The food here is excellent, sometimes a bit of a wait on Fridays but that is to be expected. No complaints here would definitely recommend for great food friendly service. Also if you eat in you can take your own alcohol! 2 great off licences in the village as well. What’s not to like!!
Typical English fish and chip joint. Can get busy at popular times so best to call ahead. They also prefer cash so make sure you've visited an ATM before! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I’m baffled by the good reviews. The proper sized chips tasted good but over a third of my portion were scraps. The cod didn’t taste fresh and the batter was extremely brittle. Mushy peas were so runny I saw a similar review from 3 year ago! and onion rings were clearly bought in ready made and very mushy. The sausage was very low quality. Expected a lot more in Claygate and given other reviews. Shame. Spoilt the end of a really good family day out.
