Trattoria Da Lepri - Ellington

We had dinner here for my 80th birthday. this small (7 tables and a bar) intimate Italian gourmet restaurant served with a distance the best meal we have ever eaten. first they are not taken by reviews that say small portions and high prices. that is not true and the price was less than we had expected for this quality and the level of service. most dishes are served with greens from local farms, wonderfully dressed and seasoned. brot is served, which is hot from the often populated; we had the Calamari Appetizer, who took this standard course to new level. calamari was made perfect and the surrounding salate was elegant. the surprise came to escape (sundi) time. my wife had that with the calf, which was twice as big as she ever had. It was slightly baked and seasoned with wonderful spices (I shared it). we didn't know that kalbs was coming. I had made the wonderful shrimp sampling, with generous garnel, perfect, and spaghetti with a real Italian sauce. we had to take a small amount home, as we could not resist the elegant j. foster’s eis for dessert. we could not agree about aromen so that the waitress graciously suggested a creature of each. the end of a perfect meal. reservations are very suggested for this little jewel, and no one could go wrong there. lepri’s is the winner, the hands down, for every special occasion and right in our hometown! but the journey from everywhere worth it.

Excellent food and drinks. Loved the eggplant rollatini. Service was awesome as well. Great find in a strip mall.

This is a great Italian spot in Ellington. If I was in a deserted island with their rigatoni bolognese, I'd be in heaven. We've tried a lot of their apps entrees and have consistently been impressed. Also the ricotta doughnuts with salted caramel ice cream.... amazing.

I knew we were in for a special evening beginning with my initial phone call to make a reservation. Deborah, the owner, was so accommodating, the apex of customer service. Our first time at the restaurant and was wowed the entire evening. From the service to the food, top notch! I chose the restaurant based on online reviews, so glad we did. It was our first visit but certainly won't be our last. Thank you Deb and staff for a beautiful birthday/Valentine weekend dinner!

Five stars! From my initial phone call to make a reservation, I knew we were in for a treat. Deborah, the owner, was so gracious as is her entire staff. It was our first time and we were so pleased with our meal, atmosphere and service. Kudos to Deborah and her staff. Thank you for making a special Birthday/Valentine celebration even more special.
